Study: Firefighters accessing care for trauma

Dr. Janine Olthuis a psychologist and researcher at the University of New Brunswick runs one of the recently funded CIHR studies for first responder mental health. As part of her study, twenty five first responders will be offered care using an electronic version of narrative exposure therapy via trained and supervised coaches under psychology supervision. Dr. Janine Olthuis, psychologue et chercheuse à l'Université du Nouveau-Brunswick, dirige l'une des études récemment financées par les IRSC sur la santé mentale des premiers intervenants. Dans le cadre de son étude, vingt-cinq premiers intervenants recevront des soins en utilisant une version électronique de la thérapie d'exposition narrative par le biais d'entraîneurs formés et supervisés sous supervision psychologique.
