Becoming a Volunteer Firefighter

In 2013, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs adapted the Answer the Call program for national use from the Alberta Fire Chiefs Association (AFCA). The program consist of key resources that departments across Canada can use to help them recruit and retain firefighters in their communities.

 

Volunteer firefighters make up about 85% of all firefighters in Canada and these heroes are integral to the public health and safety across the country.
