Government Relations Week 2025 is planned for December 1 to 3, 2025

As you know, each year CAFC holds a Government Relations Week through which Fire Chiefs meet with Members of Parliament and other elected or senior officials. During this week we discuss key issues in the fire service, our prebudget asks, and engage in relationship building and education on Parliament Hill.

We would like to invite each individual member or company officer affiliate member to consider participating. While many of you are experienced in this domain, experience is not required to partake. We will provide everyone with training and key messages and we will ensure that small groups have both new and experienced members as you meet with officials. You will find the details on registration below.

Government Relations Week is planned as follows: 

Dates: 

Arrival: Monday December 1, 2025 (arrive by 4 pm for dinner and briefing)*  
Departure: Wednesday December 3, 2025 (depart after 2 pm)

*There may be a separate meeting Monday morning for the Board and NAC. Details will be confirmed soon.

CAFC will provide:

• Meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
  
• Materials and Training 
  
• Logistics and schedule
  
• Hotel Information
• Breakfast or Reception on the Hill

You are responsible for booking and covering your:

• Travel
  
• Hotel
• Other expenses

GR Week will take place at the Delta Ottawa (101 Lyon St. N, Ottawa, ON K1R 5T9).
