(Note that the course is offered in the choice of English or French. To access the French course registration, click here).

The course focusses on what fire chiefs and company officers can do to create the conditions for firefighter cancer prevention behaviours.

Overview

This program is intended to help fire departments create the conditions that support and optimize firefighter cancer prevention behaviours. While the behaviours are discussed, the focus is at the level of the department and what the leader or manager can do to facilitate compliance or adequate alternatives.

The program is especially designed for departments for who may need to find alternate solutions in light of resource constraints. The program is free to CAFC members.

Program Format

For this program, each session again includes didactic and interactive discussions, presenter slides or fact sheet, and a confirmation of learning assessment.

Individuals who take all three workshops and pass the confirmation of learning for each section (repeatable until a minimum 70% is achieved) can receive a certificate of completion.

The sessions are in English only, and there is a separate course offered in French.
