Chief Morgan Hackl has imagined and expanded the roles of Saskatoon Fire in non-traditional public safety initiatives through community collaboration and outreach partnerships. He personally leads and gives back by gaining firsthand knowledge of the challenges to the most vulnerable in the community he serves, including participating this year in the Sanctum Survivor Challenge, where he spent 36 hours living as if homeless on the streets of Saskatoon.
Chief Hackl recognizes that community challenges are a shared responsibility and that Saskatoon Fire is a key leader in solving our community’s most challenging issues. He regularly befriends individuals experiencing homelessness to get to know the person and better understand their needs. His mentoring and support of Saskatoon Fire Executive Officers, by encouraging and embracing creative solutioning and out-of-the box thinking, offers Saskatoon Fire to continually find new ways to support and provide leadership in community safety.
