On behalf of the Nominations, Resolutions and Bylaws Committee of the CAFC, we are pleased to launch the resolutions process for 2024 that will be used for this year's AGM.
As part of the AGM, per our bylaws, we will ensure that the resolutions process is complete and we are well positioned to do so because of the virtual process we developed previously.
It is now our pleasure to describe the virtual process for 2024.
Timeline for 2024 CAFC Resolutions Process
(1) Between June 11 and July 12, 2024 we released one Call for Resolutions by email. Similar to previous years, members have the opportunity to propose a resolution and return it to CAFC's Director, Membership Services and Special Projects, Ms. Anabel Therrien at atherrien@cafc.ca. This year, submitters must include a seconder in their submission.
(2) By August 19, 2024 the proposed resolutions will be posted in both official languages in the 2024 Resolutions section of the Chiefs Chatroom.
(3) Between August 19 and August 26, 2024 Members will have the opportunity to review the resolution, and to submit comments and amendments by following this process:
- Once available, go to the resolutions section in the Chiefs Chat Room
- Click on 'Quick Reply' of the relevant resolution to respond
- Type your response
- Click 'Submit Quick Reply'
(4) Between August 26 and August 30, 2024 the mover and seconder to consider amendments for the possibility to re-submit the resolution.
(5) Between September 3 and 6, 2024 (only if needed): In the event that the mover and seconder do not support the amendment, the amendment will go through an official voting process.
(6) Between September 16 and September 20, 2024, ahead of the AGM, members will have the opportunity to vote on the resolutions. The resolutions will be included on the election ballot and will be circulated to members by email.
The Annual General Meeting will be a live in-person event taking place on September 24, 2024 in Montreal, where we will announce the results of the e-vote.
