Good afternoon,

On behalf of the GaleFamily, the BC Wildfire Service and the City of Revelstoke are coordinating a public memorial service for wildland firefighter Devyn Gale.

The service will be held in Revelstoke, this Saturday, July 22.

  • Members of the public can pay their respects starting at 12:45 July 22by lining the service procession route from the Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services Hall (227 Fourth Street W) to Revelstoke Secondary School (1007 Vernon Avenue). A map of the procession route is attached.
  • First Responders wishing to attend the service procession are asked to marshal at the Revelstoke Fire Rescue Services Hall (227 Fourth Street W) at 12:15.
  • The public and First Responders are invited to a service following the procession at the Revelstoke Secondary School gymnasium at 13:30.
  • A reception for First Responders and community members will be held at Queen Elizabeth Park immediately following the service.

A digital livestream of the event will be available in the coming days, the event will also be recorded and available for you to watch later if you are engaged in response or unavailable during the live event.

Details of the memorial will be made available to the public through the media tomorrow. We anticipate this will put additional strain on the local accommodation network so please make your travel arrangements as soon as possible.
