Overview

 

For over 20 years, the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) has hosted its national conference, Fire Rescue Canada (FRC). This national conference gives fire chiefs from across the country, many of whom are also emergency managers, the opportunity to convene for educational and networking purposes.

This is a niche conference intended to facilitate and foster relationship building across the sector. The planning committee makes an effort to ensure relevance to all department types from large metro to small rural, from career to composite to volunteer.

For those not familiar with FRC, during this event we host our annual general meeting, our awards gala, and take the time to catch up with each other. We hear new topics both from within the membership, and from guests who may be politicians, journalists, researchers, clinicians, policy experts, musicians, artists, athletes among others. Some discussions result in resolutions, ideas and programs that show up in the next year’s operating plan.

All FRC 2025 activities take place at the Fort Garry Hotel, located at 222 Broadway, Winnipeg R3C 0R3.

If you try to book for the Friday and Saturday before, it will tell you there is no availability. We suggest you book your hotel for the FRC nights using this block and then contact the hotel directly to see if there are hotel nights for the 19th and 20th. The hotel has these currently booked off possibly for another organizations event, but they may free up. You can contact the hotel at this number 1-800-665-8088.

To register, simply click the registration link within the category below that applies to you. Your choices are

1. General Admission,
2. General Admission + Fire Service Women and Women Chiefs and Company Officers Meeting, or
3. Fire Service Women and Women Chiefs and Company Officers Meeting ONLY (all ranks welcomed).
4. You may register companions separately.

Use General Admission + Fire Service Women and Women Chiefs and Company Officers Meeting (all ranks welcomed) if you are eligible and interested in attending both the conference and the Women Chiefs and Company Officers Meeting on September 21. There is no additional costs.

 

If you are eligible and only interested in attending the Women Chiefs and Company Officers meeting, you can register for the meeting only and not any of the other FRC events. Note that there is a cost for attending the meeting if you don't register for the conference. 

 

If you are a speaker, Board, or NAC member, you will have a special code to enter.

Companion Registration   For all Companions attending the conference   Rate: $200   Includes admission to the Manitoba Social (1), the Gala (1), two Companion Breakfast Sessions, one Reception Ticket (1) and all Hospitality Suites Tickets.
